Christmas Stocking

Hi all!! We had a great time with my Mom yesterday. Took her to the mall and a little site seeing around the area. I really think she is enjoying her "vacation". Today I think we will make a few Christmas cards!

I used the stocking die to make this card.

I see more of these in my future. I've seen such great treat holders with these stockings! With my LARGE family I will be making a lot of them.

Have a great day! Shelley

Spice Cake Candles

It's Friday!! I am so excited about this weekend. I won a free weekend at North Bend State Park in WV at the company I worked for last Christmas. Thanks Exponent Telegram!! We are finally getting around to using it. I thought I would use it this summer but didn't read the fine print that you couldn't use it between Memorial Day & Labor Day. But I'm sure it will be gorgeous there this weekend with the leaves changing. Plus my son & his girlfriend will be meeting us there!!

I have a fast & easy project to share today.

These candles are going on my mantle with the pumpkins I made earlier this week. I used the Spice Cake fabric & designer series paper and the coordinating buttons. All these are in the holiday mini. I think Spice Cake is my favorite paper yet! Such pretty colors & designs.

Thanks for stopping by & have a great weekend!!

Scrap it With a Song

This week Scrap it with a Song is using an awesome rock poster for inspiration! And what better rock band than the one and only Grateful Dead!!!

There is so much inspiration you can take from this poster....

Here is what I created...

This is my handsome nephew, Tyler. I usually never get a good picture of him. He is usually making some terrible gesture or face at me.
I used the orange, green & purple from the poster.  I tried to find similar letters to use.

Challenges
sketch 269 from Scrapbook Challenges
Anything Goes - Add Lettering

Don't forget to hop on over to SIWAS and see what the other ladies have created. You can find the link there to join the challenge. We look forward to seeing what you create!!

Christmas is in the air!!

Happy Wednesday!! I have been in the Christmas spirit lately. I love CHRISTMAS!! I want to get a jump start on some decorations for our new house. The sad thing is I always buy things then never get around to use them. I bought two foam trees last year and was determined to create something with them this week.  My friend Kim says there is only 68 days to go!! Can you believe it!!

Well I did get one tree created...

These are using the lollies, except I didn't create the lolly with them. I used scored my paper ever 1/4" with the Simply Scored tool. Then just pinned them into the foam. I used the Cherry Cobble Quilted Satin ribbon for tinsel. The ornaments are from the stocking accents die for the Big Shot and 1/2" circle punch.

I stamped some of the ornaments with the Pines & Poinsettias stamp set.
It is such a pretty set!

Have a great day! Shelley

My Digital Studio

Well, I have been wanting it for a long time, so I finally broke down and bought My Digital Studio! I am so glad I did. It is so much fun to play with, and I can see me getting more pages done than I have in the past! Especially gifts I would love to give family members.

This was my first attempt.

This my son, Larz and his good friend, Alex. They came down to Charleston to visit us last weekend. Of course they wanted to go to the mall. Like any good mom, I brought my camera along. I think I might have been embarrassing them. lol

They were good sports at first....

but then...
I don't care. I was having a good time. lol The older fellow in the back thought it was pretty funny!

Have a great day~ Shelley

Pumpkins, Pumpkins!

Hi! Hope everyone had a great weekend.  Ours was nice, we went to the walk Saturday for Infant & Pregnancy Loss Awareness. Today we went to see a good friend of Mike's and stopped in Pt. Pleasant, WV. Mike & his family lived there quite a while and he was showing me around. There is some great Revolutionary history there and of course the Mothman legend.

Friday was a great day! I received my Stampin Up order. I was so excited to start playing. First I made these fabric pumpkins out of the Spice Cake fabric available in the Holiday mini.

I found the instructions on how to make them here.  Martha Stewart also has a different set of instructions here.  I just love them. And the fabric is great! Might make some more soon!

Pretty Doilies

I can't believe it's Thursday! The days seem to pass so quick!  I am so excited, I have a new laptop. Well, not completely brand new, but new to me. And the mouse doesn't jump when I type. On my other laptop I would be typing away and have to stop because the cursor had jumped somewhere else on the page, and my words where all screwy!  But anyway....

I took the idea & layout for this card out of Paper Crafts magazine. I used the Delicate Doilies  & Kindness Matters. Both are so great, and Kindness Matters is only $8.95 for the clear set! I finally used the Cherry Cobbler embossing powder, but I don't think you can really see that in this picture.

If you would like to order either is these sets, just click here!

Marbling Technique

Hi! Well I didn't stick to a schedule very well yesterday, but I guess that is the beauty of not having a job right now. We took the candles I posted yesterday to my "future" brother-in-law & sister-in-law. We had a good visit & great dinner with them and their three boys!  I am working on Halloween treat bags for my niece & nephews and got 4 of them done, only 7more to go. lol But it shouldn't take long, most of the pieces are cut out.
I haven't made any new cards yet, so I will share a card we did lat month at my upline's team meeting. It is one of my favorites, but I really loved all the cards we made.

This is using the French Foliage stamp set, which I love! The background is created by scrunching up wax paper to use a the stamp. Really love these colors together!

Monday, Monday

Hi! I still haven't gotten back into a schedule, but that is going to have to change today. After 2 weeks of vacation, (at least a vacation from not going to a job away from the house), I have to set myself on a schedule. Even if it is just a crafting schedule. lol

Today I have a special project to share with you...

These are candles I made for my "future" sister-n-law for a walk they are having next Saturday for Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness. It is a cause very near to her heart after loosing a baby during pregnancy last year. I have not know this loss personally, but know several people who have. Often times, it is not a loss that many of us know how to address.  This walk is an wonderful way for them to remember their babies, and bring awareness to others.

Mojo Monday

Happy Saturday!  I could really get use to not having a job, except the money thing! lol I was always so happy for the weekends so I would have more time to craft. I was so excited to finally be able to make something this week after unpacking for a week.  I decided to play along with  Mojo Monday. Their sketches are always so great, and the inspiration is awesome!!

I used House of Haunts, love this set. And after looking at my picture I wish I would have colored in the moon, oh well.
Off to finish up some candles I have been working on for a very  special cause, will share on Monday.
Have a great weekend all!
My baby boy (ok, he's 20) is coming to spend the weekend with us, so excited to see him!

SIWAS - EVERYTHING I DO

Happy Thursday!! I am so excited I finally have everything unpacked and the new house in order. There is still some painting and things to do, but that will happen over time. But now I have time to craft & scrapbook again!! I am so happy.

This week Scrap It With a Song is using a fantastic Bryan Adams Song.
EVERYTHING I DO

I love the movie Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves! This song always reminds me of that movie.  Kevin Costner is sooo cute!

But here is My Prince Charming...

This is me & my fiance at my nieces wedding last month. We had a great time. The bride was beautiful.  I used part of the lyrics  " Search your heart, search your soul. And when you find me there you'll search no more..."   Such perfect words when you find your soulmate.
Enough mushiness lol All my products used are Stampin Up, except the little butterfly was cute out on my Cricut! Still love that thing.

Make sure you join us at SIWAS, you have until Oct. 31 for this challenge.  There are some really fun awesome challenges coming up in the future.

Challenges:
Flutterby Wednesday - must include butterfly, fairy or angel
Penny's Paper Crafty - Anything Goes

Have a great day ~ Shelley
