Acrylic Distress

In the Stampin Success magazine this month, they showed a beautiful card using acrylic distress.  Paint a pieces of card stock with acrylic paint, let it dry and run it through the Big Shot. Sand off some of the paint to show the color underneath. You can use a dauber with ink to color in the sanded areas, I just left mine alone since I used Crumb Cake to paint on.

Scrappin'

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I can't believe it's already over. I hot some projects completed this weekend. One didn't turn out like I thought it would, so but to the drawing board on that one. However, I didn't get several scrap pages completed.

For this first one I used the sketch from  Creative Scrappers .

These are photos from my nieces wedding from last September. See how happy the little boy looks? lol That is Derrick, poor guy looks like that in all the photos, we couldn't coax him into smiling for anything. He is so stubborn.

And here is one more...

This little guy is Landon, Derrick's little brother. He loves to have his picture taken. I got my inspiration for this one from the sketch from Sketch Savvy for this one

Let's Get Sketchy

This is my wonderful nephew Tyler.  He is always up to something. There is definitely not a dull moment when he is around. He was at our house every weekend.  I miss those days. Soon he will have a baby of his own.
I am still having so much fun with My Digital Studio. It is so easy to make more scrap book pages.  I am getting so many more done. There is still time to get MDS free for a 30 day trial. You will love it. I used the sketch at Let's Get Sketchy for my page.

Scrap it wit a Song - My Heart Will Go On

This is our last week of celebrating the Oscars at
This week we have a beautiful song by
Celine Dion from the Titanic, "My Heart Will Go On"
This song is so pretty, yet so sad.

With the very first verse I knew I was going to make a page of my Dad. He has been gone 20 years now, but he often visits me in my dreams just to have a chat. The little photo in the bottom right is my Mom & Dad, with me peeking over the chair at them. I love that photo, it is very special to me. My page was created using My Digital Studio.  I used the sketch from Once Upon a Sketch

Hope you play along with us at Scrap it with a Song. All the entries this month have been gorgeous!

Stampin on Black

I saw this beautiful card on Split Coast Stampers
and wanted to give it a try.
Once again my card didn't turn out like I was expecting it to,
but I do like how it turned out.   It looks like fireworks to me.

I embossed the "inside" of the flowers from Greenhouse Garden in pewter, then colored it in with watercolor pencils.

More Valentines

I still have a couple more Valentines to share.

I saw a similar card by Sandy Mathis and did my own version of it.  I love love the In-Color colors. They are really my favorites.  The Everyday Enchantment paper is beautiful from the Sale-a-Bration catalog. You can get it free with a $50 purchase.

Scrapbook Thursday

I still have not come to terms with the fact that my sweet baby boy is all grown up. He will be turning 21 in just a couple months but this is still how I imagine him....

Just look at that sweet face.
He loved to dress up and actually still does. lol

This is a picture of him just last year, so hard to believe. lol

I used My Digital Studio to create my scrap pages.  You still have time to get MDS free for 30 days. It is so much fun to play with. You can get it here. I also used  the sketch from  Get Creative
Today starts the new challenge at Scrap it with a Song. Check out what the Pop Gals have in store for you this week.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!

My mom told me the Veteran's hospital was asking for donations of Valentine's Day cards for the patients. I love making cards for the veterans, they have done so much for us. Giving them a card is the least I can do.  This Courage stamp set has really been worth the money. I have used it for so many cards, it is so pretty.  I used the Bible verse John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. A beautiful Valentine & Veteran verse.

Rejoicing

Rejoicing for a couple reasons!  1) I have finally made my wedding invitation and 2) the wedding itself! I have been thinking about how I wanted to make my invitation for quite some time now. I bought the Blissful Bride set back in 2010. I loved it and imagined using it then, before Mike proposed. lol Yesterday, I finally started to get down to actually finalizing it. Let me tell you, it was a challenge for me. I was trying to decide what size to make it. When I thought I finally had it, it changed. What I planned, just didn't work. Then our electric was off most off the day, so there was no internet for me to turn to for inspiration. But,  here is what I finally came up with...

Almost, - There will be a few changes once I get some new products from Stampin Up and I think I am changing the pink Blusing Bride to Calypso Coral. And that spot on the wedding dress won't be there hopefully. lol However, the hard part is over...until I get to the inside!
Every Sunday I love reading Stampin Sisters in Christ blog post. Their devotions each week are always inspiring. I thought this card was perfect to enter into their Rejoicing - Make me Smile, Happy News Challenge.
Job 8:21 “Once more will he fill your mouth with laughter
 and your lips with rejoicing.”

Scrap it with a Song - Que Sera, Sera

Que Sera, Sera
Whatever will be, will be

This week Scrap it With a Song is using this great song
by Doris Day as our inspiration!

I loved the title of the song the best, so I used that for my page.  I am always teasing my son Larz about when he is going to get married and have me some grand babies!!  Of course he has plenty of time for that, he is only going to be turning 21 in April.
I used My Digital Studio from Stampin Up to design my page. This month you can get a FREE trial version of My Digital Studio to use for 30 days. Check it out here!
I came across a great challenge blog,  Scrap Jacked.   The DT has such great pages to inspire you. I used Bec's page.

Divas by Design - Love
Penny's Paper Craft  - Love is int he air

Scrap it with a Song

Hi all!! I have a scrap book page to share today. Thursday starts the new challenge at Scrap it with a Song. This week's song is Falling Slowly by Once.
However, I didn't use that song. Here is my page....

I have had this piece of paper for a year now, it was included with a Valentine pack from Stampin Up.  The words are embossed on the paper, it is so pretty. Every time I see it I can't get that great Beatle song out of my head.
I usually don't work well with pink, I think that is why I kept putting of using it. I had this piece of paper laying on my table and a scrap piece of Razzleberry was laying beside it. It looked so good together.  I used the sketch at Sketchabilities
