Simply Sketched Sympathy Card

Hi! I am sitting here enjoying the sun shine through my windows! The weather has been beautiful the last few days it reassures me that Spring is definitely on the way.  Soon I will see all the pretty daffodils growing on the hillside.

Unfortunately I had to make a sympathy card this month for a friend.  I really need to keep a few of these on hand.

Cardstock - Coastal Cabana, Brown Sugar, Very Vanilla. Stamp set - Simply Sketched.  Supplies - Fancy Fan embossing folder, Chantilly crochet trim.

Have a beautiful day ~ Shelley

Grandparent's Day Cards

Well I promised myself that I would not forget about Grandparent's Day this year. Guess what, I forgot about it until Sunday.  So I quickly made some cards, of course they didn't get mailed out until today but better late than never.  Right?!

I used Mosaic Madness stamp set and the new in colors to make four cards.   I really only needed three cards but I loved all these colors and didn't want to leave one out so I have an extra one to keep!

Baby girl on the way!!!

Wow I can't believe it has been over a month since I have blogged! We have had a busy summer so far, lots of family gatherings and visits!

Yesterday I had a great time at my sister in law's baby shower.  This is their fifth baby.  After four boys they are finally getting a little girl!!

We don't have many girls on either side of the family. We will double blessed this year with two girls, one from each side of the family!

Me, my Mother in law Margaret & Sister in law Jennifer at the baby shower

I made this mini album for the new baby, finally getting to use some pink paper!! It folds up into the tin.

And the card

Mother's Day

I thought I would get at jump start on Mother's Day since I am so far behind for Easter.

I used the sketch at Utah Divas for this card. My yellow paper is actually acrylic paint on Crumb Cake card stock. Run it through the Big Shot and filed off some the paint on the embossed section. I used Everyday Enchantment paper, it is free for a few more days in the Sale a Bration catalog with your $50 purchase.

1st Easter card

I can't believe Easter is only a couple weeks away and this is the first Easter card I have made. I'm not sure where my mind has been. I just dawned on me the other day how soon it would be here! You think with the beautiful weather we have had and all the daffodils around I would have thought of it earlier.

I actually made several cards this weekend and even got a few extra things completed too. I used the sketch at Stamping 411 and dug out my Easter Blossoms stamp set from last year. I still love this set, so pretty.

TAP DANCING

Happy Monday All!

Today I have a fun technique card to share. In Stampin Success (a wonderful magazine for Stampin Up demonstrators) they had an article on tap dancing. Not the Gregory Hines kind of tap dancing, but a fun way to use your stamps.

First stamp your image in a lighter ink, I used Wisteria Wonder. Then take a darker ink Stampin Write marker to add highlights to the stamp, I used Elegant Eggplant. You can do this by tapping the the side of the marker or coloring directly on the stamp. Breathe on stamp to remoisten the ink. An easy way to make your card look even better!

Acrylic Distress

In the Stampin Success magazine this month, they showed a beautiful card using acrylic distress.  Paint a pieces of card stock with acrylic paint, let it dry and run it through the Big Shot. Sand off some of the paint to show the color underneath. You can use a dauber with ink to color in the sanded areas, I just left mine alone since I used Crumb Cake to paint on.

Stampin on Black

I saw this beautiful card on Split Coast Stampers
and wanted to give it a try.
Once again my card didn't turn out like I was expecting it to,
but I do like how it turned out.   It looks like fireworks to me.

I embossed the "inside" of the flowers from Greenhouse Garden in pewter, then colored it in with watercolor pencils.

11 days til Christmas!!

Well, I hope you all have most of your shopping done.  I actually have more done now than I usually do.  I only have two more gifts to buy!! And I know what I am getting them! Yippee!

I took some time this weekend to make a few Christmas cards to give to my fiancé's Mom.

I cased this card from someone else's blog, sorry I can't find the link now. I really like how it turned out. And I love that I used French Foliage to make a Christmas card.

December already??

I just don't know where November went. It still amazes me how fast time flies. There never seems to be enough hours in the day. But I did get a few things accomplished last night. That pesky day job seems to get in the way, especially this time of year. My future sister-in-law's baby shower is this weekend and she asked me to make a couple sets of Christmas cards to giveaway as prizes. I am more than happy to oblige. I finished them up last night.

Here is one of them. I used Rich Razzleberry and embossed the Delightful Decorations with pewter embossing powder.
I'm excited for tomorrow evening to get here, I think I will get a few more projects crossed off my list!

Have a great day, Shelley
