Scrap it with a Song

I hope everyone has been enjoying the Christmas season.
  It all goes so fast!
This month at Scrap it with a Song
we are celebrating with Christmas songs.
This week you get to choose your favorite song to play along.

I chose Grandma Got Runover by a Reindeer.

This is not my favorite Christmas song, actually my all time favorite is Silver Bells!  However my mom loves it and when I was looking through last years pictures that I have not scrapped, I found the perfect picture that made me think of the song.

I used the sketch at Let's Get Sketchy.

That is my sweet Mom, not really drinking the beer but always willing to pose for a great picture!
I hope you join us this month for our Christmas challenges, we are having a DT call too!

One last Christmas card....

Well maybe...
Where does the time go! I can't believe it is so close to Christmas. Why do I always have so much left to do at the last minute.  I still haven't bought my husband anything and I need to buy my son one more present.  On a positive note, I did get my cards done extra early this year, thank goodness.

I love the Ornament bundle! These cards came together really fast.  Stampin Up will be offering more great bundles of stamps and framelites in the upcoming Spring catalog!

Scrap it with a Song "Shake up Christmas" - Train

It's Scrap it with a Song challenge time and we are celebrating Christmas this month!! I just love Christmas songs!
This week our inspiration is "Shake Up Christmas" by Train.

We are also having a DT Call until the end of December,
check out the details on the blog.

I came across this picture of my son, nephew and our Golden Retriever Ginger and knew I wanted to use it this week. The large photo was taken about 12 years ago and the small one just last year.  Sadly we lost her this past summer, she was such a good dog.

I used the sketch at Let's Capture These Sketches.

15 days til Christmas

Can you believe it!! There is always so much to do during this time, I wish it would slow done so we can enjoy it more. I love hearing all the Christmas carols on the radio. The weather isn't really making it feel like Christmas though.  It has been rather warm and raining for three days now!

I did get all of my cards addressed this weekend -woohoo! Now to get them out in the mail.

This is one using the Ornament bundle,  my favorite this season, and the pine tree from Lovely as a Tree, which is another great set to have.

Have a great day~ Shelley

Joy

Hi! Hope everyone is having a wonderful week.  Mine has been busy.  I am back to work full time, it has been a bit of an adjustment.  It was nice having extra time to get things done around the house, but back to the real world now! lol  Even though it has only been two months. Short and sweet.

I made this card last week, after I saw one similar on a blog.  I really like it and would like to make a few more.

Thanks for stopping by ~ Shelley

Snow Much Fun!

Hi! Happy December! I love this time of year, it makes me feel like a little kid again. We have been having very warm weather for December though, it doesn't really make it feel like Christmas is just around the corner.

I made a couple more Christmas cards. This is Snow Much Fun stamp set. I used a sponge to make it look like snow drifts. Here is a link for directions to a similar one.

Have a great day ~ Shelley

Scrap it with a Song - Keep it Together by Madonna

Hi! I hope everyone (in America, that is)
had a great Thanksgiving feast with your family and friends.
I hope everyone else had a great day as well!
Today we have another challenge at Scrap it with a Song
Keep it Together by Madonna

When you enter our challenge this month you have a chance to win a pack of Harvest Line paper!!

For my smash page I used the sketch at Let's Get Sketchy.

This is a picture of my wedding party.
I used the lyrics "family is gold" which kind of blended in with the paper too much.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi! I can't believe Thanksgiving is tomorrow!
I can't wait to eat some yummy turkey and ham!
Today I am sharing one of the projects that we
did at our Stampin Up upline meeting.

This is a 8x10 canvas covered with DSP.  The original project had "NO PEEKING" to use while you are wrapping presents.  Since I don't have to hide to wrap presents I used this stamp on mine instead.

Happy Thanksgiving~ Shelley

Snowflakes

I was planning on making a Autumn card for today's post but I just didn't get around to it. This weekend I went to visit my family, we had a great time. I was even able to attend my Stampin Up upline meeting!! She had such great projects for us to make!
I worked on Christmas cards last week, so I will be sharing one of those with you today!

I used the new Coredination paper in Cherry Cobbler, when embossed it gives you such a pretty design. I love it. I also used the Snowflake die for the Big Shot. I just love snowflakes!

Foliage

I can't believe how fast this year is going! Thanksgiving is only a week away. I can't wait to eat some delicious turkey!

I had to use my French Foliage stamp set again, - this time I embossed one of the leaves with Cherry Cobbler embossing powder and stamped the word stamp in Early Espresso.

Have a great day ~ Shelley

Monday Monday

I can't believe it is Monday, where did the weekend go. We had such beautiful weather, it was near 70 degrees. I'm afraid that will probably be the last. Oh well, Christmas is right around the corner.

I really loved how this card turned out, I made them for a trade for an upcoming upline meeting. I used the stamp sets Papaya Collage and Tiny Tags.

Hope you have a great day ~ Shelley

Scrap it with a Song - Our Country by John Melloncamp

We are celebrating Election Day at Scrap it with a Song.
This week the challenge is Our Country by John Melloncamp.

This is a great song! No matter if you are a Democrat
or a Republican - this is our country!!

I used the sketch at Sketchabilities for my page.

I was really excited to create my page for this week. I used part of the lyrics "I can stand beside ideals I think are right, and I can stand beside the idea to stand and fight"

This election was my son's (Larz) first time to vote. I have tried to tell him over the years how important it is to take advantage of our right to vote.  I am proud that he voiced his opinion. He had to do an absentee ballot since he just recently moved to another county, so I made him pose with his ballot. The soldier on my page is my wonderful husband Mike, when he served our country in Iraq. I will be eternally grateful to him and all our soldiers that have fought over the years.

I hope you join us this month at Scrap it with a Song. You have until November 30th to post your creation.

Have a great day ~ Shelley

Ornament Keepsake

I do believe that the Ornament Keepsake bundle is my favorite purchase from the holiday catalog. It makes such beautiful ornaments and cards! I saw some Christmas cards done in neutral colors with the ornament stamps and wanted to give it a try.

My next favorite item is the Coredination card stock. I used the Early Espresso and ran it through the Big Shot with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder for my background paper.

Have a great Monday! Shelley

Twisted Card

Well the snow stopped and the rain started again. So glad we didn't loose power like a lot others. I hope it comes back quickly for them.
I had time yesterday to make a Twisted Card. It was a lot easier than I imagined. I watched a youtube video.  I learn much better by watching than reading instructions.

The pockets make great spots for a tea bag or gift card.

Hope you have a great day! Shelley

Santa Twizzlers & Some Snow!

Hi! I hope everyone is safe from the effects of Hurricane Sandy.  We got about 5 inches of snow, but so far have not lost power!  Here is our winter wonderland.

I participated in a Church Bazaar last weekend and these Santa Twizzlers were my best seller, so I made some more for all my adorable nieces and nephews.

Aren't they adorable!  Here is the youtube video! The only thing I did different was run the red oval for his hat through the Big Shot with the Fancy Fan folder and I used the small flower from the Boho Blossom punch instead of a pom pom.

Have a great day and stay safe! Shelley

Delicate Doilies

Hi! I hope everyone is having a great week. It is hard to believe it is Wednesday already and only a week left in October! Christmas will be here soon!

I made these cards using the Delicate Doilies stamp set and the holiday ornament frames for the Big Shot.  The top cards are my favorite and want to make more of those.

I have been finally getting a lot of older pictures put onto scrapbook pages! It feels good to get these done so I can move onto more wedding pictures!

I used the sketch from Sketchabilities.

I love making these Hot Cocoa Sliders.
They are so easy and make such cute little gifts.

These have hot apple cider instead of cocoa.

Smash Book

I love scrapping in my Smash Book.
I did these two pages a couple weeks ago.

This is my son Larz, dressed up like a leprechaun.
He always takes the funniest pictures!

And this is my sweet great niece Amya, with her Grandma and Mommy & Daddy! I need to do some current pictures, they change so quick. She is 5 months old now!

Lovely as a Tree

It's Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend.  I have been busy making items for a craft fair I will be participating in next month.  I am hoping to sell a lot of stuff!! Keep your fingers crossed!
I made a couple cards using "Lovely as a Tree" stamp set. This is such a versatile set, I love it! I used the Saturday sketch from Utah Diva's.

I used the baby wipe technique, you can watch a video on it here.  It is really easy and makes a beautiful card.

Scrap it with a Song - A Thousand Years

This weeks inspiration song at Scrap it with a Song is A Thousand Years by Christina Perri.  I have LOTS of wedding pictures to scrap and of course this song was perfect for it!

I used the sketch at Once Upon a Sketch.

I used the lyrics of the song on my background. Then I chose "every breath, every hour has come to this" for my photo of me and Mike exchanging rings.

You have until the end of October to join us in the challenge. Hope to see your creations at Scrap it with a Song.

Paper Flowers

Hi! I made lots of these "smashed" flowers this summer. I can't remember whose video I watched on it but here is one similar. The one I originally saw had you pull the layers of paper apart, to get the fuzzy look to your paper. I was planning on using all these for the wedding but changed my mind at the last minute. lol

They make a very colorful arrangement!

Halloween is coming!!

I have had some extra time this week to finish up some projects I have been wanting to do.  I have been collecting wine and liquor bottles and wanted to use them for some fun Halloween decorations.

This was really simple. I found these great labels on Etsy. They were all so cute.  All I had to add was some Stampin Up designer series paper.

Have a great day  ~ Shelley

Mojo Monday

Ah it's Friday!! Not only is it the weekend but it is my last day at work. I am so looking forward to seeing what the future has in store for me.

I made a couple of birthday cards using the sketch

I used the stamp set Moving Forward. The set is so cute plus with every set sold Ronald McDonald House gets a donation of $3!! And I broke into my 4x6 Festival of Prints paper stack. There is some really beautiful paper in there.

Have a great weekend - Shelley
