Here is another card I completed last weekend, using another sketch. This one from the Paper Players.

Love this stamp set, the sleeping kitty is just so cute. The scene is so relaxing and peaceful.

Mother's Day

I thought I would get at jump start on Mother's Day since I am so far behind for Easter.

I used the sketch at Utah Divas for this card. My yellow paper is actually acrylic paint on Crumb Cake card stock. Run it through the Big Shot and filed off some the paint on the embossed section. I used Everyday Enchantment paper, it is free for a few more days in the Sale a Bration catalog with your $50 purchase.

1st Easter card

I can't believe Easter is only a couple weeks away and this is the first Easter card I have made. I'm not sure where my mind has been. I just dawned on me the other day how soon it would be here! You think with the beautiful weather we have had and all the daffodils around I would have thought of it earlier.

I actually made several cards this weekend and even got a few extra things completed too. I used the sketch at Stamping 411 and dug out my Easter Blossoms stamp set from last year. I still love this set, so pretty.

TAP DANCING

Happy Monday All!

Today I have a fun technique card to share. In Stampin Success (a wonderful magazine for Stampin Up demonstrators) they had an article on tap dancing. Not the Gregory Hines kind of tap dancing, but a fun way to use your stamps.

First stamp your image in a lighter ink, I used Wisteria Wonder. Then take a darker ink Stampin Write marker to add highlights to the stamp, I used Elegant Eggplant. You can do this by tapping the the side of the marker or coloring directly on the stamp. Breathe on stamp to remoisten the ink. An easy way to make your card look even better!

with are still celebrating St. Patty's Day with Irish artists.
This week the song is Canonball by Damien Rice.

I took the word "cry" from the lyrics to create this page with My Digital Studio.
This is my great nephew Levi, he was not having a very good day last Memorial Day. Distracting with pictures didn't really work either. lol I used the sketch at Let's Capture the Sketch.

Hope you join us at Scrap it with a Song!
We love to see your creations.

Mojo Monday!

I made yet another birthday card using the sketch at Mojo Monday

The card is for my fiancé, Mike. I had this Halloween paper laying on the table one day while I was making samples of our wedding invitations. He asked if I was going to use the paper on the invitations, he was joking of course. But he would probably like it if I did. lol I used the typewriter from the Established Elegance set, it is really one of my favorites!

Altered Picture Frame

It's Friday!! Hope everyone has great plans for the weekend. I was hoping to go home to see my son this weekend but I'm afraid that is not going to happen. We are still have car problems! :( I am going to have a sad weekend....
I bought this shadow box at Michael's. I painted it all different colors just experimenting a little. I would love to do more painting. I have lots of plans for old items I have around the house. I do like how this frame turned out.

The picture is mine & Mike's engagement picture that we used for the engagement announcement for the newspaper. Most of the items are Stampin Up, except some of the paper I used & the bottle cap.

Have a great weekend! Shelley

Mojo Monday!

I am finally making some much needed cards, you would think I would have some on hand for special occasions but I don't. Especially cards for men. I thought I would use the sketch from Mojo Monday to get two of those cards done.

These are for my brother-in-law and nephew who will both be celebrating birthdays this month. I took one picture with the flash on and one with it off apparently.

Ty-bug is turning 18!

We had such a gorgeous weekend!! It was so warm & the sun shined so bright. I love it. There are daffodils blooming all over our street. Spring is near! We had a great time with family. I was able to attend a baby shower for my nephew & his wife. Mike's brother & family even came up to visit.
Tomorrow my nephew, Tyler, will be turning 18!!
It is so hard to believe he is all grown up and so much has changed this past year. He just became a husband and will be a daddy in just a couple months! Our birthday's are a day apart (I turn 40 today! lol) so we have always had a great time celebrating together.
Happy Birthday Ty-Bug!

Scrap it with a Song - Nothing Compares to You

This month at Scrap it with a Song
we are celebrating St. Patrick's Day all month by grabbing
 our inspiration from Irish artists.
This week it is Sinead O'connor with

I used the line from the song "sleep all day"
to do a page on our Pearl.
This is Pearl. She loves to sit on my table while I craft and see what she can steal to play with, she loves paper! If she hears you crumple up a piece she comes running to play "ball" with it.

This is the bed we had set up for my Mom when she came down for a visit. As soon as Mom was out of bed, Pearl made herself at home. Even crawling under the blankets. lol I love these pictures of her, they are too cute!  I used My Digital Studio to create my page and the sketch from  Stuck on U Sketches.

Hope you can join us this week at Scrap it with a Song.
Stop by and see what awesome creations the DT
 has created this week.

Baby Shower Time!!!

Our family is still growing!!!  This Saturday is the baby shower for my soon to be great niece!! I am so excited. I have been working on a few gifts for my niece-in-law (is that a word lol)

This did not photograph well at all. It is a picture frame with the baby's name (Amya) in buttons. It looks much better in person, when you can actually tell what the letters are.

This is an altered paint can. On top is a poem I copied from the internet that says

As Amya grows, she’ll learn to speak
And have so much to say.
She’ll crack you up and make you smile
Each and every day.
All the things she’ll do and say,
You think you will recall.
But as she ages, so will you,
And you can’t recall it all!
So Hear it, Write it, Drop it in~
That’s all you’ll have to do,
To help remember the things she did,
And what was said by who!

Sorry I don't know who to give credit to for the poem.

Have a great day ~ Shelley
